Tablecloth as a toolkit is a generative artwork developed with Alessandra Svaiotti for Ty Pawb. This was the first in as reis of tablecloths created in collaboration with Alessandra Saviotti and in association with Arte Util global archive.

This was activated and exhibited alongside the Arte Útil archive and a series of works by artists such as Morag Colquhoun and works from the national collection at Amgueddfa Cymru / National Museum Wales. A series of meals and workshops were held here in the gallery, using case studies included in the Arte Útil archive and local growing projects as models to inspire new ideas. We will use the blackboard to record the Intentions and ideas gathered during the exhibition.

The questions and provocations on the tablecloth will guide participants through methods used in the social and artist-led projects we have researched. This project explores  ideas of food and social justice, climate, resilience through alternative food growing and distribution systems.

Alongside the programme of meals will be workshops in hand embroidery and printing working with the Portuguese community of Wrexham which is long established. We also   informed and inspired by interviewing local growing projects as well as visiting gardens and growing projects which came to attend conversations and bought seeds harvested from their projects.
